Crawl Space Sealing

Crawl space sealing, also known as crawl space encapsulation, is the process of sealing a crawl space from the outside to create a dry, clean capsule. It involves installing thick, overlapping sheets of polyethylene plastic, or a vapor barrier, on the walls and floors of the crawl space. The barrier is taped and sealed along all joints to prevent moisture from evaporating from the dirt floor and seeping into the crawl space. The process can also include wrapping piers, covering the ground, and sealing vents with rigid foam board.
